Delayed Gratification – The Better Way To Get Ahead
One of the building blocks that you must learn, and put into action, is Delayed Gratification. Mastering this will make achieving what you really want much, much, easier.
To better understand Delayed Gratification lets look at its opposite, Instant Gratification.
Instant Gratification is the mode that most people work with. It is ingrained into our being as we have been trained since birth and for all of us it is a habit!
Instant Gratification says “Get that thing now, worry about consequences later (or not at all!)”
This is also where financial institutions pop up and say “can’t afford it now? No problems, put it on our finance package/credit card etc”
You have already seen how falling into this specific Instant Gratification habit is harming your ability to financially get ahead in life. So now that you see it for what it is, lets work on breaking that habit to learn a more beneficial habit, Delayed Gratification.
Its principle is simple to define: To delay the impulse to get something now in exchange for a better reward at some point in the future.
